Review: When this bottle first arrived I opened it straight away only to find that it had solidified! Apparently pure coconut oil solidifies at 24 Degrees Celsius (75 Degrees Fahrenheit). So that night I had a hot shower and took the bottle in with me to warm up and liquify again. The coconut oil then squeezed out of the bottle warm and clear - and a little bit goes a long way! I covered myself top to toe in this liquid goodness and afterwards I did smell like a giant coconut (despite it being Fragrance Free) but I really enjoy the scent. I have been using coconut oil for over a week now and the change in my skin is noticeable. It is smoother, more hydrated and incredibly soft. My skin hasn't looked this good in years! I only use it at night, straight after a shower and just before I go to bed so it hydrates my skin overnight and feels luscious all day long. I will definitely keep using this glorious product!

Colonic Hydrotherapy

I have always been interested in Colonic Hydrotherapy as a natural therapy so last weekend I decided to see for myself what it was all about.

Colonic Hydrotherapy is a technique that has been in existence since Egyptian times and involves inserting a tube into the rectum and flushing the colon and intestines with water. This practice is meant to flush out accumulated waste and toxins that may have been trapped within the bowel and intestines.

Benefits of colonic hydrotherapy may include: healthier skin, teeth and nails, better digestion function, improved kidney function, reduction of bloating and weight loss.

My colonic took about 45 minutes. The insertion of the tube is quite gentle and the alternating warm and cool water to stimulate the bowels wasn't unpleasant. At times I did feel slight cramping but usually this was just before some backed up waste was expelled.

Overall my colonic hydrotherapist said that I had some digestion problems but overall I had healthy bowel function which was good to hear. I didn't feel uncomfortable throughout the procedure at all. Some people say that they feel lighter and flatter immediately after having a colonic. Personally I felt hungry!! Probably because I was completely empty but I had a light salad for lunch and continued clean eating for the next day and then I did feel that my stomach was definitely flatter.

I feel that I would go and get it done again and the hydrotherapist said when you choose to get them done is entirely personal - some people like to get them done every week, others every month or even just once a year in conjunction with a detox program. Personally I feel that I would use this at the change of every season - almost like a spring clean for the body! It was only $80 for the treatment and I do believe that it was definitely value for money.

Review: This is a handy pump bottle and one pump delivers a generous amount. However I did find with this foundation that it dried very quickly so I only managed to cover the lower half of my face before I was unable to spread it any further. This required a second pump to then cover the top half of my face. Due to this my face does feel as though it has too much foundation on it today. I prefer a lightweight coverage that sinks into the skin and you can't feel it. Today I have been very conscious of how much foundation I have on however I have had comments that it looks very natural which is what I am looking for. This foundation has no fragrance and the colour does match my natural skin tone. Zuii Liquid Foundation comes in 9 shades so you are guaranteed to find one which suits you. Overall I don't like the feel of it on my skin and it didn't glide on smoothly however the benefits of natural coverage do appeal to me. I will continue with this and maybe mix with moisturiser or use a primer beforehand and see if this makes a difference when applying. I ordered direct from their website and it only took 4 days to arrive which was super fast.

Review: I absolutely adore cream cleansers and this one from Sanctum does not disappoint. It glides on so smoothly and I only needed a tiny amount to cover my entire face. I always do a double cleanse as well - the first cleanse to remove the top layer of impurities and the second cleanse to really get deep into the pores. It has a very pleasant light, clean fragrance which is not over powering at all.

Review: This spray on mist is absolutely divine. I spray three times and it gently covers my entire face, neck and decolletage areas. It is extremely light and refreshing and sinks into the skin immediately. The rose water fragrance instantly makes me think of Roman goddesses bathing themselves in luxurious claw baths filled with rose petals.

Review: This is a lovely creamy moisturiser that only rewuires a small amount to cover my face and neck. It has a slightly stronger earthy fragrance but once this has been applied to the skin it is not over powering at all. It leaves my skin feeling moisturised all day with no greasy residue.

Overview: Overall I have been very happy with the quality of these products. My skin is really soft and supple after only 3 days use and one of my colleagues told me today that my skin looked luminous! I have combination skin and I find that this 3 step system really works for my skin. I ordered directly from their website and the products arrived within 3 days. For $56 I got a complete 3 step skin care program which is really good value for money and certified organic to really care for my skin!

I love the feeling I get when I wake up and have a great workout and a healthy breakfast - it starts my day off so well and I feel energised and happy the whole day knowing that I am looking after myself in the best possible way.

I draw daily inspiration from walks or drives along the beautiful beaches here on the Gold Coast but sometimes feel like a tree change and we are very lucky to have the beautiful rainforests a short drive away.
